Voltwerk announces availability of energy storage system Energy Storage Journal

Energy storage systems in 4.4 kWh and 6.6 kWh capacities are now available from Voltwerk, part of Bosch.
The company developed its battery-supported inverter system to optimize own-consumption. The integrated energy management system with 5 kW nominal capacity and a modularly expandable storage capacity uses lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries. The battery capacity can be modularly expanded in 2.2 kWh steps if needed up to 13.2 kWh.
Voltwerk’s VS 5 Hybrid system, can increase PV self-consumption from 30% to 70%, for a household of four people.

The system is equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system. The large touch screen display shows all of a household’s electricity consumption data and the status and output data of the PV system and battery – clearly and in real time.

The system has an intelligent system management function that controls and monitors energy flows and checks all components are working. The battery management system ensures that the Li-ion batteries are charged and discharged in the optimum manner to last for a long time. In addition, the system can be monitored via the internet portal Voltweb without any additional components.
