July 20, 2023: Narada has won a Rmb 1.61 billion ($221 million) tender to supply its lithium iron phosphate battery tech to China’s state-owned China Tower.

The lead and lithium battery maker said the tender is for a planned BESS.

Narada did not disclose details of the deal but said it had won bids and signed agreements for BESS projects totalling around 5.5GWh since the start of this year.

Also on July 5, the company signed a new energy projects cooperation agreement with Jiuquan City in China (pictured).

Narada said it continues to focus on the development and application of energy storage technology — which matches Jiuquan’s “industrial blueprint” for the city.

The city is a key national demonstration area for expanding new energy tech in conjunction with wind and solar facilities in the region, Narada said.

On May 23, the company’s Narada Energy subsidiary announced the signing of a Rmb 290 million contract to supply a lithium ESS to the Power Construction Corporation of China.
