February 15, 2024: Companies from the energy storage and renewable power sectors will attend a major expo in Mexico later this year. Meanwhile, a new report released on February 8 says clean energy investment in emerging and developing economies must rise more than sixfold over the next decade.

European batteries and energy storage systems expo organizer ees is joining the Intersolar Mexico 2024 expo and conference at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, from September 3-5, to highlight solutions to fortify the flexibility of Mexico’s grid system.

The event follows the International Energy Agency’s latest report, analyzing how to reduce the cost of attracting capital for clean energy investments in countries including Mexico.

According to the report, global clean energy investment has risen by 40% since 2020, reaching $1.8 trillion in 2023, but almost all the recent growth has been in advanced economies and in China rather than in emerging countries such as Mexico, Brazil and South Africa.

Solar Promotion International MD Florian Wessendorf said September’s Mexico expo is set to be the largest gathering of industry professionals in the country — supported by co-located events including The GREEN Expo, Aquatech Mexico and Mexico WindPower — and will highlight the pivotal role batteries and renewables can play in energizing Mexico’s future.
