October 17, 2019: The European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE) has released what it calls ‘10 points to kick start energy storage’ as part of its mission to push the development and deployment of energy storage technologies across the continent.

EASE is likely to use its list to lobby national governments and policyholders in this regard.

The 10 points include developing technology-neutral policies, recognizing all storage technologies, endorsing the role of energy storage in the transport sector, increasing funding for research, demonstration and deployment, and supporting the development of long-duration storage technologies.

Set up in 2011 and representing almost 40 members, such as utilities, technology suppliers, research institutes, distribution system operators and transmission system operators, EASE is also involved with EU-funded projects that promote research, innovation and demonstrations in energy storage.
