March 21, 2019: Ilham Kadri took over as chair of the executive committee, member of the board of directors and CEO of the Solvay Group on March 1 after a two-month transition period alongside her predecessor Jean-Pierre Clamadieu.

Kadri is the former CEO and president of US hygiene technology and services company Diversey and has worked for multinationals such as Shell-Basell, UCB-Cytec, Huntsman and Dow Chemical across the US, Europe, the Middle East and in Asia. Kadri has an engineering degree from the European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science in Strasbourg, France, and a PhD in macromolecular physical-chemistry from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg.
