UK renewables company Anesco announced on May 14 it is set to add more than 300MW of operational battery storage to its portfolio in the next three years.
The move will increase the Reading-based company’s portfolio to more than 380MW — just 5MW below the present UK overall operational battery capacity.
The company has a number of projects under construction, including a 50MW installation in Hampshire, due for completion later this year. The project will add to its 29 operational sites, comprising of 76 individual battery units that provide a combined capacity of 87MW.
Steve Shine, Anesco’s executive chairman, said that by analysing data from all of its existing battery sites the company had been able to create a modelling tool that enables them to predict whole life cost, internal rates of return and long term revenue streams.
